Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis or Trance is when we experience increased attention, concentration and suggestibility, a state of hyper awareness. The therapist guides the client into a relaxed state with their voice, enabling access to the subconscious mind. There the therapist uses positive suggestion and imagery to help the client make positive changes to their habits and behaviours.
We all experience multiple episodes of trance throughout the day.
Driving, reading, watching tv, a session at the gym, all of these actions require concentration and focus, this is essentially trance. Have you ever driven to a destination and wondered how you even got there, as you barely remember the trip? You were in a relaxed state of trance.

Is Hypnosis safe?

It's very safe and not what television portrays as a form of mind control. Someone who takes part in stage hypnotism will want to 'act like a chicken' or bark like a dog'.
When we are in trance, we are totally in control. We process and decide whether information or suggestions are useful to us or not and therefore cannot and will not do anything against your will.

How many sessions will I need?

This is entirely dependant on the client and how they respond to treatment. This will be discussed during the initial consultation.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, online hypnotherapy is just as effective.

Do you work with children?

Yes, I offer hypnotherapy for children from the age of 8 years old.
I will have an initial consultation with the parent first and then a following initial consultation with the child. All subsequent hypnotherapy sessions will be with just the child.
I hold an enhanced DBS.

Cancellation or change of an appointment made with less than 24 hours notice will be fully charged.
